Australian Forest Growers
Australian Forest Growers (AFG) is the national association representing private forestry and commercial treegrowing interests in Australia.
If you grow trees mainly for wood or non-wood products – or you would like to – AFG can help you.
Established in 1969 as the Australian Forest Development Institute, AFG is a national association with branches in all states. It is run by a voluntary council of growers, supported by a small paid professional staff based in Canberra. AFG produce a fantastic magazine full of interesting and valuable information.

Private Forestry Development Committees
Private Forestry Development Committees operate in 21 plantation regions across Australia. Their membership usually comprises local plantation and forestry industry representatives, local government, state government agencies, non government organisations, researchers and interested land managers. Their role is to promote sustainable plantation and native forestry on private land. They can provide advice on a whole range of plantation and native forestry opportunities for your area.

Master Treegrower Program
The Master Treegrower Program supports farmers who want to grow and manage trees for both conservation and profit, and the extension agents, scientists, industry members and agency staff who work with them.
The Master TreeGrower program is best known for its locally run, 8-day tree growing design and management short courses. Since 1996, more than 75 regional MTG courses have been conducted across Australia involving over 1500 participants and 30 partner organisations. Those who complete the course are recognised by their peers as "Master TreeGrowers".
Other activities include: professional development courses for natural resource managers whowork with farmers; regional vegetation management workshops; introductory and refresher courses for farmers; and contributing to field days, conferences, policy development and research.

Farm Forestry Networks
Victoria
Private Forestry Networks – Throughout Victoria, eleven private forestry networks and grower groups have been formed by landholders, industry members and government to share and discuss issues arising in Private Forestry. These networks (in the form of Farm Forestry or Agroforestry Networks, or AFG branches) have been involved in setting up demonstration sites, organising field days, producing technical information, contributing to Agroforestry News and recording information on species performance within their particular region.
