Good Neighbour Charters

Plantation growers, at all scales of activity - from farm foresters to industrial scale, are keen to be considered as good neighbours and to operate at the highest level of environmental performance.

Several States and regions have developed Good Neighbour Charters in order to enhance communication between commercial treefarmers, their neighbours and community groups; to help enable them to work in partnership to address local issues of mutual concern.

Good Neighbour Charters provide a public commitment from plantation growers to the community and their neighbours about their intended practices. They usually consider the following elements:
